In Stock Market Challenge your pupils will be working in teams through a week of simulated trading on the financial markets, making decisions under pressure, taking calculated risks and experiencing the excitement of the trading floor.
Participation in Stock Market Challenge will help develop their cross-curricular skills of communication, using mathematics and using ICT and the key skills of problem-solving, self management and working with others - all of which are key employability skills highly valued by employers in Northern Ireland across many industry sectors.
All participating schools will be given free use of the online Stock Market Challenge resource. The licence for this game has been sponsored by DENI and Invest NI and will remain valid for one year for schools to use.
The resource has application for 14-18-year-olds in Applied Maths, Business and Economics and it helps meet the aims of the STEM agenda. Schools should find it to be a valuable asset across the curriculum and for several year groups.
