Year 11 took part in Stock Market Challenge for their Big Learning Day activity. This was a cross curricular enterprise activity between the Business Studies department and the Maths department.

Students worked in groups to assume the role of investors on the stock market. Students bought and sold shares throughout the day according to the information provided from newspaper articles, news bulletins and stock market information.

Students developed teamwork, problem solving and decision making skills as well as developing numeracy skills and a knowledge of the stock market. The winning team was the ‘Sneaky Peak of Turnips’ team who made £309,000. Well done to all Year 11 students for an excellent Big Learning Day.

Lynn Gibson, Head of Business Studies
