The Trading Floor game is designed for larger group enrichment activities or enterprise days.  Students, working in teams, buy and sell as if they are on a real stock market trading floor.

The game content is the same as the Dealing Room version but trades are made using paper shares, banker’s drafts and dollar bills of exchange.  Prices are quoted in round numbers to make the game more accessible and simplify the recording of trades.

The TV and radio news is broadcast on the market screen but news stories are provided in newspaper form. The simpler interface and use of paper materials makes it easier to manager for larger groups and suitable for younger and for mixed ability pupils.

We work in partnership with Innovative Enterprise, who specialise in the delivery of Stock Market Challenge as in-school activity.  For further information, visit Innovative Enterprise or contact Andrew Bernard directly on 0845 326 4818 or by email.

"This is an excellent programme which the students thoroughly enjoyed.  It offered learning opportunities which are difficult to provide in a normal school timetable."

Dermot Gallagher, Head of Business Studies, St. Brigid’s College

"An excellent enrichment task to support learning, and for team-building and numeracy."

John Paul Potter, Business Education Teacher, Ross High School

“An excellent resource that has been transferred to different departments within the school.  An opportunity to apply knowledge and skills in a practical environment."

Anne Marie McElhinney, Business Studies, St. Patrick’s College

"In the Dealing Room Game our students used their reasoning, logic and mathematical skills to buy and sell shares. They made links between the demand, the supply and the price of a share.  This activity enabled students to use their mathematical skills in a real life situation. It was excellent.”

Maria Gretchen Garcia, Maths Teacher, Morpeth School
