About

About the Challenge

The Investment Challenge comprises two day-events for Year 12 students from across the North West. Students will compete on campus using the Finance Lab simulation on either 26th or 27th June.

The competition’s main aim is to promote higher education opportunities and develop students’ business awareness and transferable skills.  The challenge is hosted by Alliance Manchester Business School and facilitated by Global Investor Simulations.

The competition

The event is a valuable opportunity for your students to meet with employers and educators.

They will experience first-hand the knowledge and skills required to study business and finance-related subjects at university and to pursue careers in the financial services sector.

During the day your students will be competing in pairs against students from other schools playing Finance Lab, an online financial markets simulation game.

The Investment Challenge will be supplemented by presentations to students and teachers and networking opportunities.

Key objectives

The project provides a relevant and engaging way of communicating with young people, and it delivers a positive message about higher education.

This campus-based event will increase your students’ awareness of higher education opportunities and of the range of courses offered at Manchester Business School.  The Investment Challenge competition will support the development of your students’ employability skills.

The Global Investor simulations are superb.  The program works for all ages at secondary and all ability levels and the pupils are completely engrossed in the experience.  It teaches all pupils about the way the world of finance works in a fun and easily accessible way.
