Functional Skills and Personal, Learning & Thinking Skills are core components of the 14-19 curriculum. Stock Market Challenge, adaptable to different age groups and learning environments, allows students to develop these skills through game-based learning.
The resource has been designed as an immersive activity suitable for enrichment activities at both KS3 and KS4. It assists in the development of the cross-curricular areas of Skills Development, Enterprise, Financial Capability, Work-related Learning and PSHE.
Since 2003 Stock Market Challenge has been run throughout the UK as an inter-schools competition. The events bring together 20 to 30 local schools or colleges in each region and are sponsored and supported by a number of universities, EBPs and businesses. Since its inception, over 5,000 Year 9 to Year 12 students from hundreds of UK schools and colleges have taken part.
